Flow of Battle
Battles consist of tactical phases and command phases, and Servants will engage the enemies based on the choices a Master makes in those phases. A turn concludes after both the player and enemies have performed their actions.
-
Use Skills to Your Advantage
During the tactical phase, you can use the Skills that each Servant possess. These Skills can be used again after an indicated number of turns.
In addition, the outfits equipped by a Master are called Mystic Codes, and each Mystic Code grants a unique set of Master Skills that can help your Servants. -
Inflict Powerful Attacks by Going for Chains!
In the command phase, you will need to choose three Command Cards to order your Servants to attack. Selecting cards with the Servants' image will enable you to command the Servant depicted on each card. Other than the Servant image, there are three different card types: Quick, Arts, and Buster.
Quick: These cards allow you to gain more Critical Stars.
Arts: These cards allow you to fill up your NP Gauge faster.
Buster: These cards allow you to deal more damage. -
Match a Servant's Cards
Matching all Command Cards with the same Servant will prompt a fourth attack, known as an Extra Attack.
-
Match the Color of the Cards
Quick Chain: When all three cards selected are Quick Cards, a Quick Chain will occur and you will gain Critical Stars that increase your Critical Hit Rate on your next turn. Critical Stars enable you to deal significantly increased damage.
Arts Chain: When all three cards selected are Arts Cards, an Arts Chain will occur, which will help fill up the NP Gauge that enables you to unleash a Servant's Noble Phantasm.
Buster Chain: When all three cards selected are Buster Cards, a Buster Chain will occur and will increase the damage dealt for that turn.
By choosing the same Servant Cards and matching the same colors, you can gain both bonus effects. Strategizing to get the bonuses will give you a decisive advantage in battle! -
Noble Phantasms: A Servant's Trump Card
All Servants possess a powerful ability called a Noble Phantasm (NP). When the NP Gauge fills up to 100%, the Servant can use this special move.
In addition, if two or more Servants' Noble Phantasms are unleashed on the same turn, their effects intensify. -
Consider Class Affinity
Each Servant belongs to a certain Class. A Servant whose Class has an advantage over another Servant's Class deals greater damage and takes less damage from their opponent. A Servant whose Class is at a disadvantage will deal less damage and take more damage from their opponent.
